This shot was taken at a W11 re-enactment staged on the Great Central Railway at Rothley Leicestershire.
These young men were resting for a while on a very hot day last June. To see them sitting there in a world of their own reminded me how many young men fighting in previous conflicts and present day duties must have done the same thing wondering why they were there so far from home. Although these lads were only dressed up , they sure looked the part

like I said. You do it all. It looks real. Like real soldiers with heavy thoughts. (maybe just the heat). The lighting is perfect. It pretty much all is. Color, detail, expressions. And you're right. Our poor soldiers are never far from my thoughts. Ehhhh. I can't go there. Anyway, this is truly a great shot. Warm regards,

I can't see a single thing out of place. This could surely be 1940. I like the fact they seem unaware of you too, making this seem so natural. Good work

I agree. The look of inevitability as scarily familiar no modern soldiers. These guys are re-enactors extraordinaire!
