Photographer’s Note

A view captured on the exit from the Livorno port, under a small rain, with dark grey sky and a colour of the sea that was scraming "hurricane"...

It was our first day of vacation, on the road to Sardinia.

Ferry at 7.00 a.m. from Livorno to Golfo Aranci.
We spent the day before to organize some hundreds of kg of luggage that.....we absolutely need in Sardinia...but we were happy...we were going to Sardinia!
The evening before the big transportation, from the house to the car of that some hundreds of kgs....but we were happy...we were going to Sardinia!
Then on the bed around midnight...and wake up at 2.00 a.m....but we were happy...we were going to Sardinia!
A pint of black coffè, and then on the car.
Of course...thunderstorms all along the highway travel from Milan to Livorno...but we were happy...we were going to Sardinia!
At 6.30 we are in Livorno, waiting for the ferry, that as everytime is in late of at least one hour...but we were happy...we were going to Sardinia!
It was raining all the time, some thunderstorms, the sea had waves of more than one meter...but we were happy...we were going to Sardinia!

And finally with just one hour and a half in late the ferry leaved Livorno to Golfo Aranci.
It was raining, there was a bit of vomit all around the desks and strange guys with white/grey skin, blinked eyes that were screaming outside the ship...but we were happy...we were going to Sardinia!

according to your note, it was rainy that day right? And that conforts me in the "wet attitude" some great photograohers are. Never be afraid of the weather, the worst it is, the best the image will be.

A simple image with a dreamyn sky - you did well to devote the most part of the image to this. The lighthouse and the jetty divide the image into three.

Ripresa molto essenziale e pulita.
Non lo so perchè, e dovrò prendere i provvedimenti del caso, ma il manufatto portuale mi richiama l'immagine... di un braccetto di un vecchio giradischi. Dove sta il piatto e la testina e il disco lo so solo io...

Stange atmosphere created by this sky that looks like touching the sea. And the poor little lighthouse seems to be sandwiched between the vastness of both the sea and the sky.

Hi Paolo, very good, almost minimalist, composition with only three elements: the pier, the sky and the sea... Nice crop with low horison and I like how the pier line leads the view in the sea, into the unknown...

Hello Paolo! I like how the stormy sky meets the sea, and I guess this was the silcence before the storm or at least it looks that way. The little light house seems to be the only "living" thing and makes a great break between the two elements. Wonderful. Barbara.

Molto bella prospettiva data dal molo (col la luce) in angolo. I colori sono magnifici ma non lasciano prevedere una traversata riposante... Ho avuto più nei miei viaggi in Sardegna!
