Photographer’s Note
Slow Food!
One of the first things I noticed in Latvia was taste.
Food tastes here :)
Last weekend there was a Latvia festival in Old Riga. Hand made products from Latvia were sold, on different places there were groups of people singing and dancing.
These two ladies (I think sisters) were selling Bacon.
This Bacon you use for "Pirags", another Latvian speciality.
We can also buy this on the market. Riga has three big markets, the most famous one is right in the center, just behind the railway.
It's difficult to make photos of people, and the lady on the left became nervous after I made my intentions clear, and made sure was was sitting straight in the chair. Her sister was quite the opposite, and continued with her activities. Lucky for me, both liked the idea :)
The lady in red made me think of the typical service you receive in the markets. Jerzy Bucki (bantonbuju) has captured and described this mood very well in this photo
PS2;
crop, small color corrections, resising, added the border and text, and finaly slight sharpening.
I tried the border again this time, it's not much of a difference in my opinion.

Hallo David!
A wonderful daily life photo! I truly like it a lot! The two ladies seem to be very friendly. A not everyday's picture here on TrekEarth!
Greetings from an a bit autumnal Germany - and have a nice sunday!

Hello David,
First of all, I liked the note :) - we still have 'slow food' here in Romania but I'm affraid this will change in the near future (how near, I can't say).
As far as the picture is concerned - I think I would have gone for a different framing. I mean somehow for a closer view of the table (the goodies on it are our 'story' :) ), leaving the building and even the people aside (still including that stretched hand holding the cheese :) ). I know - easy to say, harder to do...
For the present variant I would crop the windows.
Regards!
