Photographer’s Note

During our vacation near Lake Balaton my older son and me visited the mountains, too... They're (the mountains there) named "Balaton Highlands", the highest peak is only less than 600 meters above sea level, but we enjoyed that small tour very much. It was great to find our so-loved Macrolepiota procera there also. Shot was taken on "Thomas Hill" (315 meters) near Balatonfüred. From the peak You get fantastic panoramic view of the city and the lake.

Macrolepiota procera is an often picked and very delicious mushroom, which can be found on fields and in the forest, too.
"Macrolepiota" genus is having 11 species in Europe (taken from the book series "Urania, World of Plants and Animals", from the book "Inferior Plants"). On the other continents I don't know, but You can surely find it on Wikipedia.

The reason why I uploaded this photo here instead of TrekNature is simple: I already have a photo there - and on TrekLens, too - of the same type (of course not this one), and I didn't wanna repeat myself. If You'd like to see more of my Macrolepiota procera photos, click HERE, HERE and HERE plus You can also check out a very similar specie, Macrolepiota mastoidea.

WS is the anaglyphe version of the photo, look it at with red-blue or red-green glasses to reach real 3D effect.
