Two shiploaders of Southern Coal Pier 6 located at Laberts Point Coal Terminal, in Norfolk.
This is the largest coal-transloading terminal in the Northern Hemisphere. Norfolk Southern Railway Company
operates this facility on the Elizabeth River to transfer coal from rail cars to ships. Annual through-put capacity ia 48 million tons. Coal originates primarily in Virginia, West Virginia and Kentucky.
Those two shiploaders, the heart of Pier 6, permit the facility to load two vessels simultaneously by means of
twin tandem rotary dumpers that empty the rail cars and feed the loaders for a combined dumping capacity of up to 8,000 tons per hour.

Hi Robert,
Your excellent framing makes a coal loading pier both interesting and atttractive. I like the diagonal of the pier and the contrast between the red ship and the black loaders. The sky behind adds beauty. Your note adds intersting detail.

Hello Robert,
Good industrial documentary!
Effective point of view gives a fine impression of the terminal, the colour of the loading devices leaves no doubt about what is loaded...
A well composed image, accompanied by interesting written information!

Hi Robert,
Your shot brings style to hard harbour operations. Excellent light. Strong black and red tones work well against the blue sky.

Hi Robert,
Beautiful capture of this impressive operation that efficiently moves this fossil fuel all over the world. Very clear colors with excellent sharpness to this seaside behemoth.

Bonjour Robert
Your framing is very well done. This is good docu. picture with an industry perspective. Amazingly large ship as it appears from here. If I were to nitpick, I would about the framing..why grey?
Regards
Angshu
