Photographer’s Note

It was sometime in the late afternoon, as we were wandering around the holy ganga river. As a cow was roaming around behind me (and somewhat intruding my backside slightly!), i was lucky enough to catch this girl standing directly on the edge of the river. I had talked to her and some other of the local beggers earlier, all whom were just as happy to have their picture taken than to get money...

A very nice composition..the texture of water broken by the small girl and the steps..all in perfect proportion.I would love to see the colour version too..just wish the girl was in better focus..a really nice picture nonetheless.

just curious..what time of the day was it.Please do add a note..

Very nice shot, with an excellent contrast.
I like how you managed to make water appear very clear and the character darker. Your frame also adds a lot of power to the picture, underligning your off-centered subject.

beautiful composition.. the kid the water... the B&W treatment..

i love the way the inclusion of the stairs and the platform is complimenting the picture, and really a very reflective title...

really nice dark outlined figure teatering on the edge of the gats. With the corners of the steps and her figure mixed with the texture of the ganges it leaves itself to be a timeless shot. Ah Rishikesh, what a wonderful place! Does the Bombay Guesthouse still exsist up in Laxman Jula?
