One more from the Cologne Cathedral...
Yesterday I posted a pic from the new window in the south aisel of the Cathedral in Cologne (more informations about the new window in the note from yesterday).
The arcades you can see here are going in a semicircle round the altar (on the left side) with alcoves on the right side. The sunlight on the mosaik window on the right side painted the old walls in pink, yellow, blue, green, orange....
I know this pic here is not a special artwork but I wanted to show you the rainbow colours on the pillars and arches in the sanctuary. I wish there would be another arch on the left side to give a better geometric impression to the eye ;-)
The Dom is full with thousands of interesting motives for a good pic but it's not easy to get the right point of view for a good shot... there is always a pillar too less or too much xD
You can believe me that a look with your own eyes is a lot more impressive than this picture
But I hope you like it and with a little bit of fantasy you can imagine how impressed I was.
