Photographer’s Note
"Built by Cornelius Vanderbilt II, in 1893 this Italian Renaissance style palazzo is one of the most obviously self-advertising and conspicuous of the slough of opulent shacks in Newport. It has 70 rooms, and all were decorated by an international team of artists. The grandest of Newport's summer cottages, The Breakers is a symbol of the Vanderbilt family's social and financial preeminence in turn-of-the-century America."
This is a view from the back yard of the house. Unfortunatly I was not allowed to take pictures inside of the house. I am standing only a third of the way back from the house on the lawn.
One more side note: When this house was built the Vanderbilt family had more money to its name the the United States National Treasury.

Money can do amazing things! I'll never find out what, though. Great shot with DOF and colors right where they should be. Nice colors. A great architectural capture.

Bien amicalement.
Philippe
