[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Homorod – an another Transylvanian village of Saxon past. The central square place occupies a church with a noble history tracing back to the old times of 1200. Later – in the 15th Century – the church was surrounded with a ring of defensive walls to be strenghtened more in the next centuries. Today the Homorod half church, half castle is perceived as one of the most beautiful across Transylvania.

The Saxon settlers were invited to the Transylvanian lands in the 12th Century. Choosing new places in the East, they left their homes by the rivers of Rhein or Mosel (Germany today) to populate abandoned Transylvanian regions with order to keep the borders safe from Eastern invaders. In the next centuries Saxons gradually became one of the most influential minorities in Transylvania. During the Ceausescu regime most Saxons left Romania for Germany. Today only very few Saxons can be found in their historical places and the emptied villages have been taken over mostly by Gypsies.

HI Marcin,
Nice street shot in Transylvanian village! The low POV with the kid sticking his head out of the lower left corner is awesome. The horse divides the frame nicely, and the tower with the clock adds to a nice backdrop. This shows the age, which you wrote in your note. I'm assuming these aren't Saxons but Gypsies in this photo.

Take care,
Brian

Lovely shot Marcin...I love the elements you've combined within one frame...nice work this..

Hello Marcin,
now I see it will take some time till I get an overview of your gallery. So different motives put together into one picture! Very strange but very good!
Best whishes and have a nice weekend
