Photographer's Note
I have been trying for along time to get the wave hitting the beach. This time I was so close that next time I will wear my wet suit. The water is very cold it is our winter. To get this shot me and the camera bag went swimming but I saved the camera from gettind wet.

Gorgeous. I love the warm colours, the shadows, and the fast shutter froze time beautifully. Wow.

Very creative idea... and it worked superbly (the speed as well set to capture the drops, the moment perfectly captured and the DOF excellent). Can't believe you did not kill your camera.

that's a brilliant shot richard ... and a great reward for your efforts. i can see what you were lookng at here. that small ledge curls the foam as it hits the beach. it looks really good in the sunlight.
if you try this shot again, do so earlier in the day when it's brighter. i think you'd get a great effect without the shadows.
either way, brilliant shot. well done!

Fantastic. The shapes and warme tones are wonderful. Your timing and perserverence are great. Well done. Had to come back because on the re-visit the first words were " Holy Smokes" - in a good way mind you.

One of your most beautiful works, Richard. Amazing shape, splashes, foam... Great one! I always wondered about your ways to save lens dry...you must be wizard! The way you catching waves in the most wonderful shapes makes me think you are somekind of mermaid! (ooops dunno how to name male mermaid on English :))

Mind blowingly magnificent! What else is there to say?
If I were to get painfully picky, I'd say that the picture ought to show a bit more to the left but woah! It is so impressive! Amazing!
Congrats!!

Hello Richard,
I can notice your "style"...
This time the "sand shark" almost got a good bite of you...but, judging by this result, it was worth it! Excellent shot, thanks for sharing!

Hi Richard
You are the best photographer of the waves. It's beautifull and the sharpness here is incredible. The light also.
Well done

Hi Richard,I have just discovered this beauty, what an incredible wave!
The range of colours is amazing.
There is so much to see in the wave;I like the contrast between the movement of the wave and the solid sand of the beach.
Great title.
Best wishes Jean.

A truly magnificent capture, the shape the wave has taken is incredible.
The droplet which creates the eye is superb.
One of the most impressive captures I have seen on here. well done.

An wonderful ıdea to shoot a 'macro' of a wave! The lighting's good: devides the picture into two and helps convey volume (though not successfully at some points, but thats my opinion only)... The mixture of the foam and the sand makes it lok like coffee foam.

Your shot is amazing. Just the prefect time and the light just on the "mouth" is excellent.
It gives me ideas...

But it is worth for getting wet because you had done a very interesting shot that no one can hoave this chance. That looks like really shark teeth and before I opened the bigger image I thought it was a real shark
well done.
congratulations

Olá Richard!
Wonderful detail. When I saw the thumbnail I wasn't really sure what the photo was going to show.
The light hitting the shark's mouth is also magnificent.
Fantastic job ;). Congratulations and thank you so much for sharing,
Ana
