This boy was having lunch with his mum and kept looking towards my table in this pub in Surrey where we went for lunch, he kept playing with my boy as they looked more or less the same age, so with his mum`s permission I took this rather nice and nostalgic shot, I gave it a black and white look as it would match the surroundings and give the overall feeling of the 1950`s.

In the main continent Europe the fashion as a norm are coffee shops or bars where people go for a drink or coffee in the morning or late afternoons, in Britain that culture is slowly but surely catching up.

A pub, also known as a public house, is an establishment which serves alcoholic drinks, especially beers and other general drinks for consumption on the premises, usually in a cozy setting, pubs are commonly found in English-speaking countries namely in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Canada, traditionally, a pub which offers lodging may be called an inn or more recently hotel, Today many pubs, in the UK and Australia in particular, with the word inn or hotel in their name no longer offer accommodation.

Hi Joao, I like the composition very much. Especially how the two people fill the right side of the frame - it would have been so easy to place them on the left, resulting in a very ordinary shot. Love the perspective created by the bench they are sitting on, and the empty plate is perfectly positioned. Nice expression from the boy. Excellent B&W - 50's feel for sure.

Best regards, Roberto

Cute photo, I like the b&w treatment, indeed it has that 1950`s feeling well done.

Excellent B&W photo. The light coming in through those windows is really nice. I like your composition and how the boy is looking into the camera. The texture of the fabric on the bench is very intriguing as well. Nice capture.

Ryan

Hi Joao,
I liked the expression on the boy's face and your choice of b&w but i feel it would be better if the boy and his mom were on the left side and the space was before them.

There are some great shots in your gallery but I can't believe that this one has gained so view criticisms. The framing is superb and the choice of B&W a wise one. This is a top quality image, nice work. PHIL
