Good exposure with nice colour and DOF. The subject is a little central but I like the red and the green combination.

Hello Karen,
a good point of view of of this caboose, an entity in the process of disappearance, the photograph is clear and precise. It has a good depth of field and beautiful colors.
Kind Regards.

Hello Karen,
Very good colours and clarity. However, I agree with Phil that the composition would be strengthened by not having the caboose so central in the frame. Similarly, the foreground would benefit from being cropped by about an inch in my opinion.

Karen, nice shot, right in line with the TE goals. Color and detail are good but I think I would have shot it with less foreground, it's distracting. I am guessing he sign explains the dedication, maube you could have that on the right with the caboose coming in from the left, I of course don't really know but it's a thought.

Interesting and unusual memorial. The orange colour contrasts well with the green tones around.
About composition - Rule of thirds - think of a 3x3 grid. It is said that the best place for a main subject is on one of the intersections, the bottom left being the most powerful. Of course rules are meant to be broken, but are useful as a guide until you get a sixth sense about what looks right.
Hi Karen Arnold
Nice shot with sharp crisp complimenting colours. But I do agree with your other critics in that this photo needs cropping, there is too much empty space here.
I'll workshop it and show you how I would do this.

Hi, Karen,
wonderful color and detail in this one and that sky is beautiful. I like the way the caboose is framed by the trees. The sharpness is very good. Maybe a tad much foreground, but this is waaay good. Have a great day!!

Hello Karen
I like the warm vs cold colour contrast between the red facade of the fg caboose & the bg blue sky. Nice tribute to the 1986 tragedy. Tfs!

Hi Karen. Nice tribute and nice photo. Good colours and sharpness. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.
Hi Karen
Let me begin by saying the colours and details are excellent
I know that this memorial means a great deal to you, so I am truly hesitant to be completely honest. Yet I do feel that this image would work better if it were composed a little differently. Feather proposes the rule of thirds and I agree with her. TSTI003 cropping is good, but I would actually hold back a little so that you still have the lead-in line of the walkway and have a good amount of sky (an afterlife symbol).
A fine idea and a good posting.
Full marks for colours, details and originality

Hi Karen
I agree with the others, the composition can be better.
You have improved a lot on sharpness and focus since I met you few weeks ago. Good work!

I agree with what has been said about composition, but the fantastic colours and the subject can well overcome this issue.

Nice and attractive memorial. The colors and the quality are good.
I like it for the subject and the particular wagon shown.
Just a quick tech recommandation, this one is a bit too centered, as the wagon is the main subject, so a bit more closed to with a position of the small side of it in the lower part of the right first third would have increased the strenght of the composition. This means quite with no important foreground (this one is not realy very interesting).

Dear Karen Arnold,
I like old trains very much, and this orange train in the green woods and grass is excellent and impressive.
I can imagine this train was running through the wild forest and beside the beautiful lake so bravely...and also I appreciate your note.
thank you,
Akihisa

Hi Karen,
Absolutely great image. Optimal saturation, nice compo, even the foreground's a bit too much. A frame's missing to me though, but it's personal. Best regards, László
Hi Karen,
Sadly gone but not forgotten I remember as a kid waiting till the caboose pased so we could wave to the romantic rail workers. Your departed friend has a most compelling monument. The colors very clear and contrast well with excellent sharpness to this image.
