[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This scene caught my eye for the way the trees align with the streams of water in the foreground.
With a bit of work setting the tripod on several wetted boulders, I got the trees in the upper 2/3 with the edge of the dam making a diagonal line in the lower third.
This dam is on Holland Creek, Vancouver Island, and formerly diverted fresh water to the lumber mills on the harbour. Although the cast-iron pipes are broken and out of use, the two colliery dams were never demolished.
