Dedicated to Guru Hari Krishan Sahib, Gurdwara Bangla Sahib is famous as a Sikh pilgrimage center. It is one of the most important historical and sacred pilgrimage destinations of the Sikh community. It's original name was Jaisinghpura Palace. Mirza Raja Jai Singh was an important military leader of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. He dedicated this palace in the memory of the Guru Sahib.

The Gurdwara was once a ‘Haveli’ or palace, where Guru Hari Krishan, the eighth Sikh Guru stayed during his tour to Delhi in 1664. It was built on the model of the existing palace of Raja Jai Singh in Jaipur in 1783. Later the architectural splendor was dedicated to the memory of the Guru and has been a place of worship since then, and is frequented by numerous devotees.

The Gurdwara has a sarovar or a holy pond, where people take a holy dip and pray to the Guru. The sarovar is surrounded by a covered corridor, which can be seen in the BG. The sarovar is also home for lots of fishes, which are also considered holy.
