Photographer’s Note

What caught my eye in Kaayelitsha township is how people had decorated their shacks by painting them bright colors. Laundry was usually hung out in front. I cropped this photo on both sides to make the composition tighter. The black line along the bottom was a the top of a wood fence, and I rather liked the way it framed the bottom edge of the photo.

Janet, A colourfull shot of this part of the township. I agree with you on the framing of the black line on the bottom. To me also the (less strong) black line at the top serves the framing.

I'm not wild about the black line from the fence, but I love the colors and textures of your photo Janet. This is a first rate TE shot. Welcome to TE. I'll look forward to the work you bring to the board. There are many fine participants on this board, but not enough from the United States and Canada. It is a pleasure to encounter someone from home on the board. Noting your image from Berkeley, I can't help but wonder whether we're neighbors. I live in San Anselmo.

Good shot, coloured and living ; for me thr compo is ok and the black line is not a problem Bravo.

Excellent, j'aime beaucoup la composition et ces couleurs si brillantes. un réel contraste entre la pauvreté et la richesse des couleurs.

good colourful shot. Perhaps it would be better if the image were cropped at the bottom of the fence. I like it as it is though.
