[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Punta Lobos or Point Lobos State Park is a hidden gem in the california state park system. Early spanish explorers named this area Punta Lobos (or point of the wolves) after mistaking the sounds emanating from resident sea lion colonies for the howling of wolves.

Stunning coastal views and home to some of the last remaining sea otters this place is definitely worth a visit. Captured here is Bird Rock, a small outcrop crowded with cormorants, pelicans and other sea birds.

For a close up of bird rock check out my gallery on TrekNature
