Photographer’s Note
Photograph taken from the summit of Whiteside, with the cairn in the foreground. The ridge extends to Hopegill Head and Grisedale Pike before descending to Braithwaite. This is excellent ridgewalking territory and is listed as one of A. Wainwright's favourites in his final book of the Lakeland Fells. Slight cropping to sky, a little extra saturation and sharpening. Thanks for looking....

Superb shot Steve. The last time I walked this route was in the late 1970's / early 1980's (just after leaving school). Superb composition and use of the available light. TFS. Paul.

Hi Steve ,lovely composition with the ridge edges snaking away and like neil said, good to see the walkers in the distance to give it scale .There seems to be plenty of light even though theres a moody sky above .good detail throughout
well done

Hi Steve,
Your love of the area is obvious and you've managed to capture the high fells well, a view like this is well worth the effort of the climb. I think the dark sky has given an added dimension to the shot without spoiling the view as often happens when the clouds gather. Like this one a lot.
Keep em coming,
Gavin...
