Photographer’s Note

Entering a small village up in the mountains where my moterbike almost had to give up.....this old man was the first I met. His wife had a small warung selling RUJAK (different sliced fruits and vegetable eaten with a spicy paste) and other local specialities.

I think he has such a nice and friendly face - and a beautiful hat :O)

Yo Tina!

It is a nice portrait here with a nice softness about it. You have captured good details in the womens face and I like the moment of her looking past you, it gives the photo a pleasent appeal. Also the soft colours of the background really bring out the colours of her skin.

Selamat malam Tina,
This kind of picture brings back old rememberance to me ´cause I was born in the same area as well.Friendly and always smiley as they always do(specially the Balinese people)I must say its an authentic javanese shot.

Nice picture,

A bit uncomfortable composition... a bit wider or a bit tighter crop would have made it more appropriate,

i like the feel, of this image. .. its a relaxed image.. and really nice to see it..

Long time since you've been here, you must be busy. Oct is getting closer, your next trip is waiting, let me know when you leave..okay?
This photo is very good on the horizontal part. Normally we would expect a vertical, but this apparoch really please me..i like this a lot. The man has a kind of dignity, really wonderful.
I see you are using the F4.0 setting...works good, great sharpness and detail...a real beauty..!!!

Very nicely caputred portrait the choice of background is great both because the colour provides a nice contrast with the man's face as well as because it is divided in two ths providing symmetry to the composition
