Photographer’s Note

...In a community like TrekEarth there must be very few things worse than disappearing for almost one year. Now I will try to post again, knowing that a new comeback needs to be at least as twice as compromisive than the original appearence.

Waterfall is a picture taken in the humble Church Nuestra Señora de la Caridad, in Sonador, a little town by the old road from Santiago to Puerto Plata.

August 29th it rained. Nothing new in this tropical weather. But it rained for over two hours in such a way that even the locals were really worried. Bored of waiting for the rain to stop, I remembered my camera. I took about 50 pics trying to create this one, improving the exposure times and the aperture of the diafragma. A very nice exercise that helped me remember that I once was able to do nice things with my camera.

I don't promise very frequent postings. I'm still in such a workload that I barely can find time to go out of my offices and do something artistic.

I just beg your comprehension.

Good shot and good decision to take in B/W. This must have been the forfront or backend of one of the hurricanes. the locals were absolutely right to worry about the ferocity of the storm. These are patterns that are starting to happen more frequently.

Hi Dario, nice to see something new from you at TE. I know very well what a pain that must have been after such a long time to figure out what shutter speed, f/, ISO and so on are ... Well, training is the master and wou will have to put some oil in the wheels and joints to make your camera work again.
Nice to see some real DR life here with this torrential rain. What hurricaine did you get here?

Me alegra mucho verte de vuelta a TE.
Has vuelto con una excelente fotografia, has logrado una estupenda composicion con una exposicion f/29 y 1 segundo. Muy buena idea de usar blanco y negro en esta foto. Me imagino que los efectos del Huracan Dean te cogio en Sonador. Estupenda foto. No te pierdas.
