Taken at the Mummers Parade in Philadelphia. They usually strut on January 1st but due to bad weather the parade was on Jan 7th.

A wonderful photo, it has colour, composition and humour. I like the way that it is framed at an angle and the look in the subjects eye grabs the viewers attention.

The colourful but out-of-focus background makes your subject more prominent and adds a little more interest.
