Photographer’s Note
A woman visiting Kali Temple in Calcutta.
Claude uploaded a picture of her few days ago, this is my version.
I am in Varanasi now, tired after all day of walking... Lots of touts everywhere, i am so tired of them.

I loved her face...I fell in love even..I wish you strength and honour in between "emmets" (a word meaning "ants" used for tourists in North England or Wales..I am not sure..)
take care..our energy is with you :)

Yes, charming indeed. Another excellent portrait. Interesting to see the way you two handle the same subject.

Just superb portrait. Like a image, technically perfect, but to me, the peace I can see in her eyes is the better thing I live today. Just thanks a lot friend.

You got her smile alright, I think she liked you ! You've got something going there ..... !
Still I ask myself why so much sharpening ?
About touts: take a local friend to dinner and afterwards he is protecting you as his new possession not willing to share.

I have given two points to Claude for his portratit of this amazing woman so now I must give two points to you for your splendid portrait of the same subject. I don't want to do discriminations.

Good shot Maciek, I remember her from Claudes version. It is rare that I would say this, but I wish there was actually a little more DOF. Of course I love the blurred out background, I just wish the focus included the tip of her nose. I am sure you are getting some great photos Maciek, continue enjoying your trip.

Gratuluje i pozdrawiam

Beautiful portrait, Maciek - the tight crop, the dof, the colour. All great. And you've caught a lovely expression of calm strength and goodwill.

The excellent DOF makes this shot, Maciek, the blurred scark gives an amazing depth to this image, and the face is very well lit and very well captured. Very good shot.

Hi Maciek, absolutely love portrait of this beautiful grand lady, I remember Claude's picture as well. I'm very impressed by her soft eyes, and the way she looks at you. Th scarf really helps to get her face so beaytiful rendered.

The very friendly and peaceful expression on this woman's face is very well caught in your picture. It's a really beautiful portrait. I have to agree with Darren that a tiny little increase of DOF (nose an a little more of the scarf) would make it even better for me. Looking forward to future shots of your trip!

This is gorgeous Maciej! And so different in feeling from Claude's image, largely because of the woman's expression. She has given you a slight smile and a softer sense of herself. She is beautiful, of course, with those limpid eyes. As much as I loved Claude's photo, I prefer the tighter composition you've chosen. I know this isn't a competition since both photos are so fine. First rate work, another favorite for me.
With regard to the touts, I was reminded during my travels in India, that I represented great affluence to these men who saw me as offering an opportunity to put food on the table for themselves and their families. It is the curse of having fair skin and, in your case, carrying an expensive camera. You represent wealth to people of much less means. They share their India with you, but they would like to make a few rupees doing it.

Veinards.
I said to have already seen this face some share, the two versions are very successful.Well done Maciej . Then these three days of photographs with Claude (clodreno), It appears that you had fun like two small insane. Lucky devils.

Maciek, this is for me one of your best post ever... did you post process it or shot right like it? did you use your f1.8? i love the blur on the veil on the left side of the portrait...it is such a powerful portrait... all my congrats for this exceptional portrait! i'll be in delhi only from august 23rd... too late for you i guess...

Excellent photograph....the lines on her face, those sunken dark eyes, the jewellery, the red spot on her head, the Mona Lisaesque smile...beautifully presented with perfect DOF definition...
Perfect.
