Photographer’s Note

In the foreground you see the village of Kargi (which consists mainly of holiday homes of people from Ankara or Istanbul) and some beach taverns. The beach called "Camel Beach", as you can ride on camels, is very sandy. I took this photo from the road connecting Yahsi with the Camel Beach. In the foreground, you can see the "Light House Motel", which was built only some years ago.
The bay in the background is Bagla Bay. Behind that, you can see the shapes of the greek island Kos.

About these holiday villas in the background:
Each year, more and more of these villas are built on the slopes. If you see a photo of how the area looks now and 15 years ago ... you can see that most of these slopes were empty. There were only a few houses of the locals. But it is "in" in Istanbul and Ankara to own a property in Bodrum (I can understand that ...)
What´s good about these houses:
- all of them are built in the local style (white, "Greek" style, not more than 2 floors, with plants like Bougainvillea or Oleander around them)
What´s the problem:
- they all look about the same ... and they all stand in one row (so, from the distance, they don´t look like villages)
- the gardens (with green grass) need much water (water is rare in Bodrum)

Taken around 6 p.m.
