Photographer’s Note
That's the translation of the name they call it this "dish" (in chinese, sha guo fan). They cook the rice in this clay pot, then we go to the "restaurant" and choose what we want (meat, vegetables), they put this over the rice and let it cook.
And yes, I ate in this place. In Yanshuo (Guanxi province) touristic center they have some places that serve this. But no western tourists (except me and my husband) dare to eat here: it's really dirty. But it's veeery cheap and we trust fire to kill all beasts, so we didn't add all the other stuff people are allowed to AFTER it is cooked.
I think from building and renting the place until they move or they tear the building down, they never clean it. It's a pity, if they did it the clean way a lot of tourists would really come here.
But I'm still thinking of the flavor. Hummmmm....
The lady was to busy to pose for the photo.
