Photographer’s Note

Months later...another image from China, also Shanghai.
I took it from atop the Jin Mao Building which is the tallest building in China and as of 2005 was the world's third tallest (likely surpassed by other towers by now).

The building in itself is quite interesting, with a giant atrium in it's center. However, like with most towers, what was most interesting was the view out onto Shanghai. There's a lovely view of the Huangpu river and the Pudong district. On the ground I hadn't realised how homogeneous some of the architecture could be. Looking from above at the rows of identical buildings, I really felt like I was playing a giant game of monopoly.
...
Before actually going to China, I have to admit it wasn't one of the countries that I longed to see the most (not even in my top 10), but now that I've been there it feels like I haven't seen enough. I hope I'll be able to go there again some day...but there's so much world to see!!!

You can find more information about the Jin Mao tower on wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jin_Mao_Building)
