Photographer’s Note

Behind the engine shed at Loughborough, beyond a row of abandoned looking pieces of heavy equipment and bits of old engines, parked under a tree, I found this old Jag, which looked as though it had been there for years. It looked surprisingly complete, and I can't understand why such a potentially valuable old car hasn't been restored, time I suppose. Fuller picture in WS.

Tech: Just a crop, nature had provided enough real grains on the bonnet, and it seemed a shame to spoil them.

Richard,
an amazingly strong picture. The decay speaks volumes, yet the grill still has its proud shine.

Surely Richard - These a lot of people around the world who would love to restore that old cat :-) I like the way you captured both the bad condition of the helmet and the shiny front - fine job indeed.

What a shame! I'm not really a car person, but I figure when someone has as beautiful a car as this one why not take care of it? The picture is great, the roaring jaguar is a great contrst to this tired looking finish and the cropping let's us really "feel" the curves of this car.

A poor Jaguar abandoned A its sad fate but put well as a valmor by framing, the details are interesting, original.
