Photographer’s Note
Reykjavik most notable building is the immense concrete church Hallgrimskirkja, visible from 20km away.
The church's radical design caused huge controversy, those sweeping columns on either side of the tower represent volcanic basalt, a favourite motif of Icelandic nationalists.

Hi Matteo
I was surprised to read this was a stitch because I can't see any traces anywhere - really excellent work. The shape of the church is certainly original and unconventional, and the lighting and colours of sunset are very pleasing here.

Symmetrical composition works well here. I also like square format you choose here.

Matteo,
Probably the best format possible for this building - perhaps a slight pity that you've not achieved complete symmetry - then again, for all I know it does lean at bit - doubt it though! :)
But I'm nit-picking really, it's a great shot of a fascinating building under interesting light and in good quality. Great stitch work too. Bravo!!!

Colin

Hi Matteo, I was also amazed to read that this is a stitch! I saw this building before it was completed - now that the whole thing is finished, it does look amazing, especially when it picks up the rosy glow of the sunset as you've captured here. Well done! Colin.

Ciao matteo ,
bellissima e maestosa , ottima la composizione e ottimo anche lo stitch, credo pero' penda leggermente a destra , questo non rovina affatto il tuo grande lavoro
bravo

Ciao Matteo, and WOW what a great stich job you have done!
I liked this shot too much to ignore it! I find the tower leaning a wee bit... and the b/g on both sides, behind the wings, a wee distracting... So I hope you don't mind my WS.
It looks like a rockethip on the thumbnail... and I think THAT really caught my attention!
< Will add a theme to my list and this will be the first one on it! >

Hi Matteo,
From the thumbnail I thought it had something to do with the space shuttle. Upon opening it, I realized it was a church. I thought the columns represented the pipes of an organ, but from your notes I realized I was wrong again. The only thing I'm right about is that the colors of the sky are wonderful, and are a perfect complement to the church.
Best regards,
Lamberto
