Photographer’s Note

This is my debut with my new Canon EOS 400D Camera.

2 weeks ago, I went to Mulberry St. in the Little Italy district of Manhattan, NY to have some nice Italian food. Right beside my restaurant was a cigar shop called Mulberry Street Cigars . On Saturdays, I was informed that a Cuban man would set up a table in front of the shop to roll fresh cigars. As he rolled the critically renowned cigars, this boy stopped in front of his table to gaze at his progress. I quickly grabbed my camera to capture that moment. What I realized when reviewing my photos at home was the look of desire in this little boy's eyes. Although he was underage for such smoky pleasure, he somehow knew how good that cigar would taste.

It´s a beautiful scene. Love the expression of the child. Maybe it needs a little bit of contrast and maybe the head in the middle distracts the action. Anyway, congratulations Erdem

Hi Erdem,

Thoughtful image .. the table .. the boy ..wonderful .. I wish the depth of field extended to the hands .. but very nice and thoughtful image.
