Little cloud Photo

Photographer’s Note

In the Westfjords, near Bolungarvik, on road no. 61.
The Westfjords have a population of 8000 inhabitants; they are the part of Iceland that receives the less light during the winter months because of their fjord structure many villages are between two high mountains.
They are less visited because not directly on road no. 1:-)

The pic is a bit grainy as quite a few of mine, because I had just started with the camera and somehow it was fixed at too high ISO for a long time, too bad...:-)
However, I wanted to show how clouds can come so close to the ground sometimes in Iceland.

PS work was to try to refine and reduce noise.

Hello Michele.
Unfortunately I think that your photo is technically in low levels.
First of all, it is oversaturated. The sharpness of the photo is not good and the noise is very high for a morning photo. I don't find also anything interesting in this photo except the little cloud. The house is very common without any architectural interest.
I'm sure you can do better.

Hello Michele, hoi Merline,

What gorgeous colours in this splendid light!
Colours and sphere remind me a lot of Newfoundland which also has fjords.
Steep slopes, and scree with a wee growth which is sparce due to the harsh climate!

I think you captured this well. The compo is correct.

Small nits, nothing serious. See WS; All steps were done in PICASA2 [ a tool I really like ]:
[I like to see shots where the buildings are plumb, and the water is level < waterpas he! > ]

But joking aside, only small adjustments were done/needed here:
a) straighten; b) sharpen;
c) auto colour; d) auto contrast...

BTW. There was/is NO oversaturation! That's how it is in this kinda light!

Hi Michele,
Unique composition with the dramatic low clouds and the lush green treeless hillside. The small red cottage makes a lovely contrast to the green and blue of lake set deep in the fjord's valley.

Hello Michele,
This is one beautiful clean shot. The moldy green is so contrasting with the cabin. Yes, the cloud came close and beautiful peep of the blue lake.
