Bloemendaal Beach Photo

Photographer’s Note

I took this photo on the beach of Bloemendaal, on a sunny spring day, about 2 and half month ago. The same coast looked quite different a week ago, on a hot summerday.

In the background you see the chimnies of the blast furnace of the Corus Group. It was formed from the merger of Koninklijke Hoogovens N.V. with British Steel Plc on 6 October 1999. It recently has been taken over by India's Tata Steel.

About the photo: slightly cropped, increased the contrasts, resized and framed.

Hi Stef,
This is shot which is very natural, full of life and activity.I can almost feel the mood and buzz of the beach environment here.Like how people are busy doing there won talks and work and look at the tiny little dog!!!She is enjoying too......This is good work but I think the sky is a Minus here,it lacks colours and details.

En quelques mois la vue est bien différente ! Bon contrejour, jolies couleurs et bonne composition. Quels sont des pylônes que l'on voit sur ton image ?

Hi Stef,
The scene could well be summer, with the warm hues and lighthearted beach activity. The industrial objects in the background do not detract but provide a secondary focus, perhaps slightly incongruous but interesting. The two strollers with their dog really warm the scene nicely. Well captured.

Hej Stefan,
Een heel contrast met de WS-foto wat betreft drukte. Was het leuk vorige week zondag?
Een mooie foto richting IJmuiden. Vooral dat kleine hondje is leuk en de weerspiegeling van dat gele jack is ook aantrekkelijk. Mooi werk! :-)

Hoi Stef,

Ja, een dag verschil in weer kan alles doen omslaan, uw tweede foto is daar een levend bewijs van.
Als foto vind ik deze beter dan de andere, mooie diepte en goed perspectief, net voldoende mensen aanwezig om aan te tonen welken diepte deze foto toont.
Ik ken uw toestel niet, maar ik zou eens proberen indien mogelijk om de F waarde iets te verhogen, zodoende krijgt u meer diepte scherpte.
De Maltezer hond heeft de fotograaf lekker in het oog. Mooi werk opnieuw.

What a contrast! I prefer beaches out of season to the crowded scenes you get in summer. On this one I like the interrupted reflections on the wet sand.

Hi Stef. For me the reflections from the couple in the foreground and their little dog are a nice added bonus. I like everything in the shot except for that crane which I would have been very tempted to clone out. Everything else is great including the windmills way off in the distance. tfs Stef.

Dat ziet er goed uit, zo' n wandeling langs het strand en dit vind ik een erg goeie foto. De kleuren zijn mooi en helder, goeie scherpte en dat kleine hondje vind ik een extra leuk detail :-)

Hi Stefan,
Uitstekend! Af en toe moet je het dicht bij huis zoeken. Jammer dat je op dit strand moet kiezen tussen tegen het licht in of in de richting van de hoogovens. Maar het laat zo wel zien dat wij een nijver volkje zijn.

Voir une place sous le soleil devient une monnaie rare !
Il est curieux de voir à la fois des éoliennes, des éléments de travaux publics et surtout cette cheminée pointée vers le ciel.
En tout cas, la réussite est au rendez-vous.
