Photographer’s Note
Dear All,
Have not been visited the site for a very long time. Attached is a photo I shot during my travel trip to Phanrang which is about 300 km far away from Saigon. This city is not very populated at present. All the colors of the locals, esp the ethnic people are still intact. In the photo is the Champ old woman who is still working in a small pottery shop and we asked her to sit for a pose.
Photo taken with my Canon EOS 30D, lens Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L. I named the photo "yesterday and now" as there are many contrasts in the picture. Have look and tell me what you have found. :-)
Thanks for your viewing and commenting.
Regards,
Quan

Looks good to me. Even if contrary to the norms in portraiture, I would have prefered a larger depth of field to get the background figures in. They mean so much to this picture somehow. The picture is really sharp, I enjoy seeing all those wrinkles. The strong sidelight does it's trick as well. Good dark portrait.

I think you conveyed the message perfectly and I like the colours and clarity of the woman against the slightly out of focus and monochrome statues.
Well done.
