Photographer’s Note

Kionsom Waterfall is located in Kg. Kionsom Inanam about 20km from Kota Kinabalu.

I go this place almost every year since 2000. My late father told me that he used to pass this place when he was young from Kiulu to Inanam. Villagers will sell their things at Inanam market. It takes 3 days to reach Inanam market that time. I wonder if the path is still exist now.

Yes it does Jaratin.
From this waterfall, there's a trail on the left that leads to Kg. Bambangan Baru on the ridge. From there, to Kg. Tombongon Menggatal down the valley. From that village, take the road or the river to Kg. Natai which is the last village of Telipok. From Kg. Natai, take the dirt trail to Kg. Talungan and then either the road or the shortcut through the undergrowth to Kg. Rangganan which is just 3 km from Kiulu.

It usually takes about a day trek and the total walk is about 30km.
