Mind the Lines!

Once upon a time this section of the Thames was fished by boats with nets. Bream, dace, roach and carp were all caught for the dinner table. That was before the industrial revolution turned the river into a sewage pit.

Nowadays the river is much cleaner and although fish are not taken for the plate, they are caught for sport. While canoeists are aware of fishermen - they are looking forward after all - the problem is the rowers that row backwards up and down the river. Somethimes one has to shout out VERY loud "Mind the Lines!" so that they notice....

Why anyone would want to row backwards upstream I just don't understand. After all, you wouldn't drive youir car down a road backwards all the time now would you!??!

Great lighting and atmosphere! I like how the fishing rods in the foreground are in focus and the background is a bit dreamy and surreal. Beautiful colors! Good job!
