Photographer’s Note

A view from Pico Ruivo (the highest mountain on Madeira 1810 m) towards West. Clouds are coming from North and cover half of the island stopping here.

You can get by car up to 1500 m and there are only 3 km to the Pico Ruivo summit. I went there, I mean to the parking place 3 times and there were always clouds there. The last time I came there it was the day before our departure so I took the risk and went through mist and clouds up there. It was only 50 m before the top when I saw the sunlight. And there were seconds of the clear view like this one.
Because of the mist and heavy wind there was no way for a tripod shot (if I had one) so I mounted a wide angle lens and took dozens of shots hoping some of them would be good. For me this one is good and I hope you will share my feeling.
