Photographer’s Note
I took this trip with the Schmalspurbahn to Brocken and back again from Drei Annen Hohne.
Downwards we encountered some problems with the tracks making it necessary to back up a little and take another track.
This engine driver trying to sort out the problems reminded me of something from an old movie. Very tense atmosphere.

Hi Jan,
I like the perspective....your eye being drawn along the train towards the engine driver.A good capture of the steam and it does give a sense of mystery though maybe more so if the scene was B&W as the colours release the tension as they are joyful and bright.Good detail and clarity and good choice of DOF.

I absolutely love this. Great angle, colours and composition, especially of the leaves emerging through the steam. I hope you don't get annoyed at me for saying this, what with all the Potter mania of the past few months, but it reminds me of the scarlet steam engine in Harry Potter.. terrific capture, going straight to my favourites. TFS :)
