[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A magnificent view of Old Québec, the Hotel Frontenac and the St. Lawrence River from the Quebec Hilton hotel, which is just outside the walls surrounding the old historical city.

Close to half the buildings in the Historic District of Old-Québec were built before 1850. Some date back to the era of New France, two to within a few years of the founding of the city by Samuel de Champlain in 1608. It is the only walled city in North America, having preserved its ramparts, together with the numerous bastions, gates and defensive works, which still surround Old Québec. Quebec became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985.

Technical: A problem I have discovered with my new Canon S3 is that it can be very noisy in low light conditions. Bummer. So, this photo has been sharpened and noise reduction applied. Also, light levels were adjusted.
