YASJGP = Yet Another Saint-Jean Gargoyle Picture :o) / Nouvelle image d'une gargouille de Saint-Jean :o)
----------------
---------------
So Here is a new picture from Lyon's Saint-Jean Cathédral main frontage.
Trying to create a mood, I kept only yellows and blues, and added a little grain, to enhance the old stones textures.

Voilà, photography is not just point and shot. There is much more. And here you decided to show us how something simple can be improved. I like it very much. Well done.

Hello JB,
This is another great artistic shot from you. I agree that adding graininess makes the stones look more old. Also, the hazy sky behind creates a sense of mystery as well.
Great job.

GAIFMTCO (Gargoyles are irresistable for me to comment on)
Your unreal pp application works well on your figures, which are already unreal. The one on the left looks like drawn with charcoal pencil. The grainy sky is also something else... TFS,

Hi JB
I really liked your PP here… the grainy effect adds so much to the medieval feeling…
The exposure and framing are also exquisite.

95% of me really likes your treatment on this one. The grain and the drawing effect work very well and appeal to me. I also like the bio-tone which because of the limited palette concentrates our attention on the form and textures. What is distracting me is the line around the howling dog(?) on the left, as I find myself staring at it instead of admiring the picture as a whole. Nevertheless this is very good work demonstrating your artistry.

Hello JB,
Une image impressionnante par l'angle de vue et le post-traitement que tu lui as fait subir ! Le bruit dans le ciel apporte un air assez surnaturel à cette gargouille !
Bien vu !

Bonjour JB -
My first reaction was "...this is different - a bit over sharpened..." Then I read the note and went back to the image for another look. This is really different and I kind of like it with the noise and over sharpening effects. The rough finish and erosion of the carvings and the rock that make up the facade really adds texture and the noise that you added to the sky balances the texture. The upper left gargoyle does look a bit odd to me - maybe the coupling of the processing and the DOF OOF is causing the effect. To me it is a bit distracting. But I still like the image. What gave you the idea to follow this processing line? Well done!
Thank you for sharing.

Hi JB,
there is something mystic in this one. I don't know if it's because of the highlight/shadow control or the architecture, probably both. Very nice image. Well done!

Bonsoir JB,
J'avais passé sur celle-ci, et je m'aperçois maintenant que je n'avait pas dis rien! Il me plaît vraiment beaucoup. Il est pleinement justifié le travail de PP, j'aime la texture artistique, surreal, que cette prise possède! Elle à l'air fantastique qui convient à ce sujet! Bravo, très belle!
Amicalement,
Angel.
