Photographer’s Note

Hohenzollern Castle is in the south of Germany and was the ancestral seat of the kings of Prussia and German Emperors. It is the highest point for miles around and is distinctive on the horizon approaching from any direction. The hill has been occupied for centuries, but the present castle was rebuilt in the early 1800s. It is still owned jointly by the heads of the Prussian and Swabian royal families.

This view was taken on the walk up to the top. Thunderstorms erupted all around us with fantastic weather but we never got a drop on the top of the hill.
