Photographer’s Note

The biggest American Cathedral seen from inside. Difficult to grab a satisfactory picture: the crowd which massed there to attend the mass of Good Friday make the research of a good point of view more difficult, very much variable illumination, the monumental aspect of the building. Wide angle distorts here a bit perspective, but I like well the effect of all these lines which seem to join.

Vincent, always hard to take this kid of pictures. The places are so big and light so low, it is hard to frame everything you want. But you did a good job. The portion of the place you capture is amazing. Excellent composition and exposure.

c'est vrai que ce n'est pas facile quand il y a beaucoup de monde,mais tu as quand même trouvé comment rendre compte de la grandeur du lieu.Comme toi,je trouve interessant toutes ces lignes qui se rejoignent en haut.J'aime aussi toutes cette répétition d'arcades.La lumière est très jolie,et les vitraux bleus donnent un beau contraste dans tout ce jaune.

Hey Vincent,
I think you captured a good gothic elements of this cathedral. There could have been other angles but I can understand how difficult it would be to get the best one from inside.

Perfect exposure, and many elements of this style shown: the pointy arches and the typical slender columns that branch further along with the many openings (stained glass) to give the lofty and weightless feel of gothic cathderals
