Photographer’s Note
Picturesque Oberhofen Castle is situated on the shores of Lake Thun. A branch of Berne's Historical Museum, it now houses an important exhibition on Bernese furniture and home decor of various epochs.
An array of period interiors ranging from the 16th to the 19th century invite visitors to explore. Special points of interest include the castle chapel with its mediaeval paintings, the Knight's Hall, the charming "Lake Turret", the elegant Summer Hall, the neo-Gothic Dining Room and the Turkish Smoking Room at the top of the building.
The park offers views of the lake against a majestic mountain backdrop. Thanks to the mild climate, this is one of the loveliest gardens in the Alpine region.

Hi Stanislav
What an enchanting castle and a wonderful setting. This looks like it's straight out of a fairytale! And the lighting gives wonderful saturated colours and nice definition. The flowers in the foreground make a nice frame but I think I'd have preferred them also in focus - not too difficult to achieve with a smaller aperture. Nevertheless an excellent shot.

Stanislav,
This is an excellent photo. Your composition and POV are great with the inclusion of the flowers in the foreground. I only wish the flowers were in better in focus, this could have been achieved by using a higher f-stop(around f/11-13). This would give the photo greater DOF and put more of the shot in focus.
TFS,
Asa

Hello Stanislav,
An excellent and well composed photograph of this fantastic castle. No wonder many of the great European writers, artists and composers took up residence in this area. You took your time composing this and the results speak for themselves. Beautiful!

Hi Stanislav - nature and architecture combine to make a special sight, everything is ideal, except maybe the flowers, I wonder if it was possible to make them in focus as well.

Hello Stanislav,
Now that is a castle with many details, in this nice mix of different styles!
Great light, rich colour and sharp fine details...
Good point of view and a well composed image, maybe I'd reduce size of the red flower element as it possibly takes a bit too much attention as it is?
Greetings,

I love the composition with the inclusion of the flowers in the foreground. As Asa says a higher f stop would have been preferable, or even if you had focused a bit further in than the castle itself would have helped. Nevertheless the light is good and you have captured excellent detail in the castle.

Hello Stanislav -
Very nice image in deed. Excellent exposure and composition but in my opinion you are just a touch too close to the FG flowers as they are outside of the DOF. I think that lens is about 3-meters minimum focusing distance so you need to step back a step and then refocus on the second buoy in the water and hold focus and then recompose an shoot. I would also use a DOF at f/11 or f/16.
Thank you for sharing.

Bonjour Stan,
Best from Liège.
Daniel.

Hi Stanislav,
A beautiful image, which looks like a postcard. I like your setting with the flowers in foreground that they add more visual attraction to the magnificent castle, and where the water and the sky with the clouds play a good aesthetic role.
Great work with the colors and lighting.

Hello Stanislav
Wonderful folio of castles you have in your gallery. The roof spires are very interesting with the top hat shapes & the lovely mosaics on some. I like your inclusion of the flowers in the FG...adds that dash of colour & depth, maybe could have been better if in focus. But a wonderful shot anyway.

Hello Stanislav,
This is a genuinely magnificent shot of Oberhofen Castle. The colorful flowers in the foreground provide an excellent highlight for the castle. There is also a contrast of the fleeting and fragile flowers, and the rugged stone building. There is an English word, an "oxymoron," which means contradiction in terms. For example, "straw-built castle" is an oxymoron. Here there are contrasting images in the flowers and the castle.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Good idea Stanislau to include the floers in the foreground. They make for a good contrast and intro to the fine castle by the lake. I think another aperture, i.e. 22 had presented sharpness all the way, also to the foreground. Still in overall well made and interesting setting

Hi Stanislav.
Your castle photo collection is really amazing.
One is better than the other.
To the concrete photo the flowers in the foreground, provide a special touch to your photo, making the composition to look, let's say, more happy.
The very good light and of course the very good exposure too, it helped to be written all the details from the castle.
The excellent and very carefully chosen POV, gave all the beauty from the around region.

Bonjour Stanislav,

Well done,
Amicalement

Hi!
You got many nice pics of castles, but this one is just great!
Actually nothing to improve here....Maybe it would look better (but that depends on everyone himself) if the flowers would be sharp, too (more depth of field).I don´t know if you could hav managed this by using an exposure of f/2.8 or sth.
But anyway,I like this picture very much...well done!
