[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Shanghai's most famous Buddhist temple is cramped in between a row of otherwise rather undistinguished buildings, and is itself, not especially attractively designed... But it does have one saving grace that makes it a definite must see: a 2 meter high, 1000 kg, shimmering white jade Buddha...! This Buddha statue is so great that I'm glad I didn't take a photo because it's better that you see it in person... Intead I decided to take some pictures of one of the 2 hobbies that the monks are allowed to enjoy, these Bonsai trees are more than 50 yeras old, the care and attention that has been devoted to the well being of the trees is a credit to the attention to detail shown my these wonderful monks. The red ribbons in the trees are placed by devoted worshippers in the hope that their dreams will be granted.

Hi Jon,
this is another cool picture you have posted so far.Your notes are very intersting as always. I like the shapes of these tiny trees and their shadows both on the wall and ground. Nice composition.
