Photographer’s Note
There is an intersection by the old Ministry of Information (yes, Baghdad Bob's place).
I first met this young girl there last year. Instead of begging, she offered a small prayer book in exchange for some Iraqi dinars. This meeting has developed over the months into a relationship that includes her brother and sister.
This is the three of them. Every time we meet on the street is like a reunion. We look for each other every day and are missed when one of us doesn't appear. These are my kids, and I love them.

I'm glad to see that you take pictures that don't including risking your life :o) This is a very nice portrait and the kids seem to enjoy your company as much as you do. The sun looks pretty harsh and it casts strong shadows on their faces, but what can you do? :o)

What a beautiful new family for you Bill!! They are gorgeous children and you have communicated your love and caring for them in such a beautiful way.
Look like you were shooting in strong mid-day sun, quite a chore. You sure are coming along nicely with the new glass!!
Stay safe and you are always in my prayers!

2 points for the story and the feeling communicated therein. Perhaps you could capture them again in a different setting, under different conditions? Eye-level with the subjects would be nice, too - the combination of shooting down and the shadows obscures the little girl terribly. Let us see her better = she appears to be beautiful and compelling but we need a better view!
