Photographer’s Note

Many years ago a beautiful lane of trees lined a farmroad. Then more water was needed and an earthwall was piled up across the farmroad. As rain fell in the summers, the water started rising and rising. Slowly but surely the trees had their roots soaked and as the water rose higher and higher their stems got waterlogged. Inevitably even their waving crowns in the sun could not prevent a slow death from drowning.

Now a picturesque row of stems and branches create a palisade across the dam telling a story of old.
