Early morning sunrise moseying around the Ganges taking in a quiet Varanasi. A fascinating place at any time of day, Varanasi at dawn is truely magical.
Watching this boatman rest on the banks after rowing from the centre of Varanasi to the far side of the holy river, this mans body language said it all - it was a journey he had rowed many many a time at 5:30am in the morning! |

Greetings James. A very gentle, slightly hazy picture of the morning. The white sand and the lone boatman are sharply place against the misty background over the river. Perhaps the boat would be slightly better placed a little more to the right or the left, instead of so close to the middle of the shot, but it's hardly important. A really nice shot.
Regards,
Andrew
James,
Nice composition, and even better use of minimal depth of field, very pleasing image.
Regards
Colin

Hello James,
What a lonely man in this small boat, but a wonderful composition with the morning atmosphere, and the little bit misty about the water and background.
Lovely and peacefully place.
Thanks for sharing.
Have a nice week,
John.
Great POV, composition, focus and colurs combine to create a great photo.

Hi James.
This one is such a simple and beautiful composition. The use of the DOF is great and the hazy atmsphere is playing a major role in the intrinseque beauty of the picture. I like the way the small boat is pointing to the city at the background.
