What a strange gaze this man has. His clothing seems quite intricate but his beard is just amazing. The strap from his hat makes it seem like there's a spider in his beard.
Great depth and details.

i was wondering about that spider on his beard as well... this is a great portrait of a unique man... what is he chewing? is the blurred background natural or post-proc?

Great capture Bhashkar, in what appears to have been difficult light. I note that you used fill flash which makes sense since the man's face beneath the brim of the hat would have been difficult to capture in the otherwise bright light. I like the way you cropped it, to give us some of his beads and colorful shirt while staying close in to his interesting face and dreadlocks. Fine work. I'm not troubled by the blown out light on the man's shoulder, it merely demonstrates how bright a day it was.

Excellent shot! This guy has so much character it's almost unreal. Your exposure is excellent, dark skin tones are so easy to underexpose, but this is spot on, and the slight overexposure on his shoulder doesn't bother me. Focus is spot on, and the pastel colours in the background work nicely too. Well captured :-D

Didn't they use to be called "Hippies" in the sixties and now they are called "old man"?
I have difficulties to see the "filling flash" that you wrote you used, and it certainly needs filling!
Nevertheless it’s a grate reminder of the melting pot that create the USA, and the diversion of characters you can find there
