Photographer’s Note
The Borough of Wyre lies in the north west of the Red Rose County of Lancashire, nestled between the Fylde Coast in the west and the wilds of the Forest of Bowland, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in the east.
Fleetwood
The town was founded in 1836 by Peter Hesketh Fleetwood, and largely designed by Decimus Burton. It thrived as a seaport and a fishing port, and has more recently been known as a seaside resort.
The fishing industry was largely destroyed in the late 1960s by the Cod Wars—a dispute over fishing rights between Iceland and the United Kingdom. As Fleetwood's trawlers mainly fished the North Atlantic in search of cod, the loss of the fishing grounds hit the town hard. The last deep sea trawler left the town in 1982 and now only inshore fishing boats fish out of the port, although trawlers registered in other places can still be seen taking advantage of the fish market. Fish is still a big industry in the town, though the jobs are mainly in processing rather than fishing. A pair of bronze figures on the Promenade by the pier reflect the idea of families waving off the fishermen to sea.
Fleetwood is also famous for being the home of Fisherman's Friend—a menthol lozenge which is hugely popular in Japan.

Hi Ian
I love wrecks so I'm a sucker for this shot. Looks like the victim of vandalism as well as nature. Nice detail in the sky, and good low POV. The wreck is maybe too central? Also, a note would be good. Where is this? Any story? Good work.

Hi Ian
Veyr dramatic colours and composition, but I'd have left a bit more of ground below the boat, just a bit.
Overall an excellent photo

G'day Ian.
Great sky. Lovely light and colour. Great composition. I love these old boats. I like to find old things and capture them in this way. It's like preserving history. Very well done.
Regards, Steve.

Hello, Ian,
this is a great shot. I love the dramtic lighting and the abandoned boat seemingly lost in the middle of nowhere. The sky is wonderful with those stormy looking clouds. Beautiful color and detail, too. Well seen and captured! Kindest regards,
Shelly

Very dramatic and great atmosphere with the old wreck. The note also reminds me of my home, Newfoundland. Unlike Davidh34, I like how you choose to center the vessel and keep the frame nice and tight. Maybe you should havew left a little more of the grass on the bottom. Very well done, Regards Rodney
