Malanje, capital city of the province with he same name in the North-West of Angola. Tjis region was one of the most important battlegrounds during the civil war here in Angola. Everyday you still see the results of this war.
In Malanje, a cool, laid back 'ennio morricone' feel town you will find this grandfather in his wheelchair. His smaal son is pushing him around, and they are asking for money. When somebody gives them 50 Kwanza ( 50 eurocent) they will put up a show where the kid pushes the old man to make a 'wheelie' with his wheelchair. i a way it hurts to see this scene, i another way it can make me smile. |
