Italy .... was dumbfounded by the architecture and the effort and resources involved in erecting these monuments so long ago ... i am sure so many people must have suffered also in lieu of building all this ....
The picture was processed thru HDR in Photomatix and then sharpened and levels adjusted in PS CS3 ...

lovely photo i love the dramatic sky above it sets the gold colours on the building off nicely. needs a little straightening though.

a really dramatic image. It seems a bit over-sharpened by the web size shrink, i think it looks better at higher resolution.

good experiment with this HDR. Picture looks balanced and there's a good symmetry. Good details and vibrant colours well contrasted by a dramatic sky.

I came across this fabulous image of San Marco's while doing a search for my book on Leonardo (specifically a gondola site). You've captured the extraordinary art/architectural edifice with the most remarkable light. A Nikon D-80 in the hands of a talented photographer does produce very good results.
