Photographer’s Note

The difference between poverty and wealth is not knowing what the others enjoy and where the line is drawn.

During my long visit in India during the summer of 2006 I realized that the indigenous people of India are noble, joyous, venerable and most of all ignorant of the capitalistic wealth and prosperity, although wealthy and prosperous in emotions, fervor and civility.

Thousands of years of civilization has sculptured their souls and faces making them feel well about themselves.

The photo is of a very noble street laborer who shared his smile gracefully at me.

Very nice portrait Panos. Great expression. Color and composition are excellent. DOF, point of focus (right on the eyes) and sharpness are perfect. Nice note also.

You are absolutely right in what you say in your note.I agree with you.
This is an excellent portrait.
The expression on the face are giving life to the image.
