Photographer’s Note
This is from another visit to 'Another Place', for more info see previous notes. In short there are 100 of these statues facing out to see, at various tides some or all are submerged in the sea. This view is looking past Liverpool Docks towards the city.

Hi, David. Are these statues on the beach a warning? Are we going to be flooded if we go on living like we do? You've created a good perspective by placing the first statue very close in the foreground. I think you could play a little with the levels to give more contrast here (moving the cursors left and right towards the centrre would help), it would make your picture more dynamic.

Hello David,
A strange picture with the wood statue peoples, and the modern wind mills in background, I like the wind ans sand on the beach this gives a extra to the picture, more move. Thanks for sharing.
Greetings from Belgium,
John.

Seen the other one David. One thing that gets me about this is if some of them are submerged when the tide comes in are the boats that come in aware of where they are?

Fine choice of subject. I guess the possibilities here are endless, but find a PoV with the windfarm in the background is a pretty neat idea.

Hi David. Aren't these by that Anthony Gormley chap? I like your composition - very spartan and the justaposition of so-called art (not my taste, alas) and the functionality of the wind turbines is excellent. Kind regards, Paul.

David, what a weird view! The three statues mor in the forground forming a diagonal line to the left complements so well the windmills in the far background. I wish you could place a link in your note to your previous note where you describe more in detail about this place.

the world is really queer...naked dummies standing on the beach and together with those windmills - looking into the distance...

Hi David, this are very odd. We have 26 or so in London now. I don't know how long they will stay there. I quite like Anthony Gormley's work. Anyway, nice shot, I like the sand being blown in the wind. Well done.

Good shot!

Wow...that's pretty strange. An avant scene of death and renewel to me...spooky. SOmehow I keep imagining this as a conservative Dali take on the 1930's dustbowl in the US...without all the melting and bugs ;?}
Superbly composed showing real taste...
Chris.

Hello.
There is something mysterious in this photo, maybe because the statues are so mysterious. But, lets get to the point. I really like the POV, it looks like the windmills are blowing air, and because of them sand is moving :). Arrangement of this "men" gives nice sense of depth.
Really good photo.

Hello David
Is this an allien invasion ?
Nice composition indeed.
i think also that it was possible to make a next composition with a closer view to the rough sea.
Cheers.

Hi David
Nice capture of what seems like an eerie place. What with human like statues absently gazing out into the distance and also getting submerged every now and then. And precisely for that reason I believe B&W would ahve been a good choice with a little heavy alteration of contrast to give it that dark and heavy kind of feel. The composituion looks good though.
Cheers

I needed to get used about the mix in the photo.
The nature vs. Technique in the background,
and the art-nature in the foreground.
looking longer at the photo I like the combination better.
imitation humans stare in the sea, to the horizon.
The technique is there, but it is ignored.
Almost if they want to say,
relax, think!
Have a nice day,
David

Hello David,
A very surreal shot, one I like. Feels like we are transposed to another time and space, perhaps planet. All is so still. An evocative work with fine colours and mood.
take care
