Jan Blazej Santini-Aichel AKA Giovanni Battista Santini (1677-1723), is known mainly as an architect of the UNESCO heritage Pilgrimage Church of Saint John of Nepomuk in Zdar nad Sazavou. However his professional career started here -- at Church of the Assumption in Sedlec on the suburb of Kutna Hora, which is, after all, listed in UNESCO world heritage as well.

Origins of the cathedral dates back to 1290 and it was finished around 1320. It was the largest building in medieval Bohemia until St. Vitus cathedral in Prague Castle was completed.

Santini-Aichel was asked to rebuild the church after 1700 in his 23. He completed the reconstruction in 1709 in his famous style combining the Baroque with strong Gothic influence.

I'm posting another view in the workshop.

Hi Marek,
This is an interesting church that to me doesn't seem completely finished, especially the top of it.
Nevertheless there is very nice contrast here between the sky and sun-lit facade of the church. With no people and cars on the street, the feeling of a quiet little town on a warm summer day is well captured here.
I also like the trees framing the scene on both sides.

Pekna fotka, kostol v Sedleci nebyva casto foteny..

Witaj Marku!
Wonderful church. Beautiful architecture. I like the frame, colors and light. Very impressive picture.
Regards
Krzysztof

Dobry den Marek,
That's a nice subject and you got a very good light here to have the stone & roof reds contrast againt the sky, I think you could straighten a bit on the left to reduce the impression that it's leaning to the right.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Serwus Marek !
Light is really wonderful here, allowing to delight in architectural details of the church. Probably not an easy task to take it even in wide angle, and You did very well. Love the natural coloursetting, Your trademark.
Best wishes and thank You,
M.
